Donald A. Ristad, MD, attended Mayo Medical School in Rochester, MN, and received his medical degree in 1979. Then, he served his internship and ophthalmology residency within Mayo Clinic. In addition, Dr. Ristad received board certification in ophthalmology from the American Board of Ophthalmology. He remains an active member of the American Society for Cataract and Refractive Surgery and attained fellowship of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. In addition to his medical degree, he holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology acquired at Concordia College in Morehead, MN, in 1975. He has been listed numerous times in Mpls/St. Paul Magazine’s Top Doctors. He dedicates his spare time to traveling, gardening, bicycling, listening to music, and oil painting.
